Program Overview :
Day 1: Arrival in Tunis → Tozeur, hotel check-in, overnight in Tozeur.
Day 2: Excursion to Chebika, Tameghza, Mides, Onk Jemal. Lunch at Diar Tamerza. Overnight in Douz.
Day 3: Visit Chott El Jerid & Debebcha, desert experience. Lunch at El Bey. Overnight in Douz camp.
Day 4: Check-out, transfer to Tunis airport via Matmata for departure.
Day 1: Arrival in Tunis → Tozeur
ACCOMMODATION 4★:
Ras EL AIN HOTEL : In Tozeur, near the Ras El Ain oasis and just a few kilometers from the airport.
Hotel TAMERZA : In Tamerza village, at the edge of the oasis and close to the famous mountain gorges.
Hotel KSARROUGE : In Tozeur region, near the desert outskirts and accessible to local attractions.
Day 2: Full excursion day in Tozeur and by the end of the day heading to spend the night in a hotel in Douz
Chebika : Located near Tozeur, Chebika is a stunning mountain oasis known for its waterfalls, palm groves, and panoramic desert views.
Tameghza : Located near Chebika, Tamerza is the largest mountain oasis in Tunisia. Famous for its spectacular canyon, waterfalls, and the ruins of its old village, Tamerza offers breathtaking views where desert cliffs meet lush greenery.
Mides : Just a few kilometers from Tamerza, Mides is a small mountain oasis perched on the edge of a breathtaking canyon near the Algerian border. Known for its dramatic cliffs and ancient village ruins, Mides offers one of Tunisia’s most stunning desert landscapes.
Ong Jemal : Located near Chebika, Tamerza is the largest mountain oasis in Tunisia. Famous for its spectacular canyon, waterfalls, and the ruins of its old village, Tamerza offers breathtaking views where desert cliffs meet lush greenery. It’s a place of peace, beauty, and timeless charm.
Day 2: Lunch
DIAR TAMERZA RESTAURENT
Diari Tamerza is a charming local restaurant nestled in the oasis of Tamerza, near Tozeur. Surrounded by palm trees and stone arches, it offers an authentic Tunisian dining experience in a peaceful, natural setting. Guests enjoy delicious traditional dishes from couscous and tajine to fresh salads all served with warm hospitality and beautiful desert views.
- Tozeur → Douz (2 Hours)
ACCOMMODATION 4★:
El Mouradi Douz : In Douz town, near the center and about 8 km from Douz Airport.
The Residence Douz :On the edge of Douz, close to the town center and main desert access points.
Day 3 : Half day excursion in douz + heading the the camp at 2PM
Chott El Jerid: A vast salt lake in southern Tunisia between Tozeur and Kebili, covering 5,000 km² with striking white salt flats and mirage-like reflections.
Debebcha: A small village near Chott El Jerid, where desert dunes meet the salt lake, offering a stunning natural contrast.
Lunch : EL BEY RESTAURENT
Restaurant El Bey in Douz offers an authentic southern Tunisian dining experience in a charming desert setting with palm trees and Bedouin-style tents. Guests enjoy local dishes, including traditional camel meat, served with warm hospitality.
Day 3 : CAMP ABDELMOULA
CAMP ABDELMOULA is a traditional accommodation located 120 km from Douz, about 2.5 to 3 hours by 4×4 ( maximum 5 people ) (Douz / Camp Abdelmoula).
- Day 3: Douz / Tembaine
- At 2:00 PM: Departure by 4×4 to Tembaine via track and dune crossing.
- Enjoy exploring the various shapes of dunes.
- Arrival at Camp ABDELMOULA, set up in tents.
- Enjoy the sunset.
- Optional activity at the camp: sliding on the sand of the large dunes (sandboarding).
- Demonstration of baking bread in the sand.
- Evening around the big fire.
- Dinner and overnight in tents.
- Day 4: Tembaine / Douz
- Breakfast.
- Departure by 4×4 to Douz while admiring the magnificent landscape.
- 11:30 AM: Arrival in Douz.
- Pass by Matmata and chatt jerid on the way to Tunis
- Accommodation in royal tente : private bathroom
